Cryptonewsz reports the launch of an ethereal world NFT on the Ethereum blockchain. All profit of the initial launch will go to a good cause namely to support Alzheimer research. For buyers there are extra perks like free mushrooms a.o.

American mushroom supplements company VidaCap recently announced that they would release 150 rare and collectible NFT cards on OpenSea to support Alzheimer’s research and nootropic educational awareness. The cards, which vary in rarity and will be available for purchase on February 7th on the Ethereum blockchain, feature unique digital renderings of various mushroom species set on backdrops with an ethereal landscape.

In the event you’ve been living under a proverbial rock for the past 18+ months, functional mushrooms (such as those sold by VidaCap) are becoming immensely popular in the U.S. and other Western countries. They are purported to help with various health and wellness issues, including stress, brain fog, and trouble sleeping.

This could be an interesting space to watch, as oddly enough, there seems to be some overlap in terms of interest between the NFT/crypto world and the “mushroom scene.”

Note, however, that these are not psychedelic mushrooms that get you high and make you trip. Rather, they are therapeutic mushrooms used for various health benefits.

VidaCap has used digital designer Kate Ivanova to create unique, Pokemon-like NFT cards for five species of “functional fungi” – including reishi, cordyceps, chaga, lion’s mane, and turkey tail. The collectible cards will be released on February 7th on the OpenSea marketplace, with first-week purchasers receiving a free bottle of VidaCap mushroom supplement capsules. First-week buyers will also be randomly selected to receive an actual physical print of their purchase of the NFT(s).

And the best part about the whole project? VidaCap is doing all of this in the name of charity and educational awareness. The company says it will be donating 100% of the proceeds from the initial NFT sales to Alzheimer’s research.
